Forks
A couple of weekends ago, when the temperature hit an unseasonably warm 20C, there was no way that Dave and I were wasting the day, so we decided to go on a hike at the Forks of the Credit.
But, first order of business, this. I really had to pee, and they only have outhouses. After pacing around outside for a while trying to convince myself that I could hold it for a couple of hours, a really pretty girl came out of one of the outhouses and I was like, hey, if a girl that hot can pee into a deep dark hole, then so can I.
The scenery was majestic, as usual. Although we tend to come here in the Spring when it's still mucky and there are no leaves on the trees, I still find it so beautiful. Note to self though: go hiking when it's even prettier outside.
Oh hey there!
Almost stepped on this guy. Moved him out of the path, to where it was safer. Couldn't help picturing an eagle or something swooping down and devouring him as soon as I turned my back.
That sun was hot. And lovely. I was seriously lacking in the vitamin D department.
This is a picture of my best friend Jess standing inside a tree, taken around 15 years ago. It engulfs her (beside the tree is the very dapper Nick).
This is the same tree, 15 years later. It has definitely changed over the years hasn't it? It's too bad that it's dying. Also, can we just compare a photo taken on a roll of film to an iPhone photo? Film wins a gazillion times over in my book.
High up, although it doesn't look like it, does it.
If you look closely, you can see snow clinging to the walls of rock. That is also a waterfall. As you are hiking, you can hear the sound of that waterfall from miles away. Nature is pretty cool you know.
The many hundreds of stairs to get down to the waterfall area. Thank god we didn't have to climb back up them, as we took an alternative route back (uhhhh, we got lost and walked for a million years. In fact, we are still out there, walking. Help!)
We only made it to the smaller set of falls. We somehow bypassed the bigger falls, although how the hell we did that I'll never know. They are kind of hard to miss. But miss them we did!
Another little throwback: a picture of Dave on the bridge in 2011, and then again in 2015!
Even though we got lost and didn't get to see the big falls, we did stumble upon another river that was so gorgeous I had to stop and take a million pictures.
Of myself, duh.
How artistic Katherine. I got very dirty in order to capture this crap on film.
And there you have it.
Currently I am obsessing over my holistic nutrition degree (mainly about getting it done...so much more to go), and enjoying that there hasn't been any snow on the ground in a while (although it snowed two days ago. Nothing significant though!). YES!
What are you all up to these days?
