The Closest I will Ever Come to Magic
Last weekend was my nephews first birthday party, so Krista and I made the trek to London to see our little guy and celebrate his milestone.
Thank goodness his giant birthday present fit into the back of my sister's car.
Like my wrapping job? I figured he couldn't see the top of it so what was the point?
Honestly though. Have I told you guys how much I love this little guy? He's my boog.
He was NOT happy about having this on his head.
His mama made him a smash cake. Brave, brave parents. He did end up smashing it. Everywhere. Dave was so blown away by the whole smash cake thing. He was all, "back in my day we didn't have a cake to smash". True. We didn't. But that's because our parents were boring! And didn't own a carpet cleaner!
His favorite story at the moment is The Paper Bag Princess. So his mom made him the dragon from the book. What a mom.
And then I spent the rest of the afternoon drinking and assembling all of his gifts with my brother. He loved his swing and slide. I hope he still does!!
It's so amazing to watch them grow up. It's a magical thing. I am just happy that I get to be a part of his life and that he is my nephew. Happy birthday boog!
