God I Love Me Some Cake
Our friend James came to visit yesterday. He was visiting another friend in the city that night, and he asked Dave if he wanted to hang out during the day. I had to work, but fortunately before he took off to meet his other friend, I got to hang out with him for a bit after I got home.
I have always loved this guy. I met him at a bar probably 8 or so years ago. He was introduced to me and I drunkenly challenged him to get up on stage and sing karaoke to Baby Got Back. I told him I would buy him TWO beers if he did it.
He didn't even blink an eye. He sang that damn song without even having to look at the lyrics once. I think I recall his butt being in the air for the duration of the song. Proudly.
I knew I had found a friend for life.
I hadn't seen him in 5 or 6 years (WHERE does the time go?) so it was cool to be able to catch up as if no time at all had passed.
Unfortunately the time came for him to leave. I hugged him tight and Dave walked him to his car. When Dave came back into the house, he was carrying a rather large tupperware container. He said, "James baked us a cake".
I thought, "AWWWW!!! What a frigging sweetheart!".
Dave opened the container and:
Look at Dave tucking into that nutsack. Delicious.
Friends for life.
