Oh Hey, What's Up?
This weekend was crazy busy. But it was awesome...went by WAY too fast. While driving home on Sunday from our various adventures, and the sun was starting to set a little, making the shadows long, I remembered that I had to work the next morning. Such a bummer.
So part of my busy weekend was to pick a wedding dress.
FOR MY BEST FRIEND! HAHA! My best friend Jess is getting married in two months (AHHHH!) and I was one of the lucky few who got to go with her to pick her dress. She is going to be a stunning, stunning bride. Seems like last week she was calling me and telling me that Rob asked her to marry him, and I stood in the middle of a busy downtown street with people streaming past me, bawling my face off and smiling from ear to ear. So happy.
That was Saturday. Busy, but awesome day.
Fast-forward to Sunday. Dave and I rented a zipcar (I think it's about time they sponsored me on this here site no?), and drove to Brampton to attend a family lunch for my uncle's 60th birthday. It was a gorgeous day for a drive and some good times with the fam.
Cool hair.
Honestly...look at that blue sky. It made me so happy I thought I was going to burst. Fall is almost here folks, but not quite. We still have (maybe) some days left like this one. Where it's cool enough to wear a sweater, but the sun is warming you just enough that you can take it off for a while. Sigh.
Ha! And then I saw my aunt and cousins pull up. Apparently, that is my 'they have arrived' face.
The scenery is so Canadian. Field's of corn and soy and yellow flowers.
I wanted to add this video because it makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. I told Dave to be quiet because I was recording but then I see a ferris wheel off in the distance and as soon as I spot it my head and the camera whip around at warp speed. Makes me chuckle. I am a sucker for Fall fairs. Cover your ears for the part where I whine that I want to go on the ferris wheel. Teenager Katherine in all her glory.
We skipped the fair grounds because we were headed somewhere cooler anyway. Downey's Farm! I feel like a hick saying it, but I love it there. The plan was to buy some homemade pie and some wine. I was very, very excited about this endeavor.
I really like that my eyes are closed in this picture. Good timing to blink.
And then come the jumping pictures. Let me tell you guys something.I cannot jump into the air.I can't go from standing upright to floating standing upright. There is cement in my feet or something. I don't know why I can't, I just can't do it. So here are the outtakes.
I mostly just love my face in this one. In all of them really. Pretty hilarious, especially when you zoom. But alas, feet not really off the ground.
Another cool face, and my feet are off the ground more! I like that unbeknownst to me my arms were framing the mouth of the pumpkin man quite nicely. So there's that.
Screw you Dave! WHY DON'T YOU JUMP A LITTLE HIGHER? Thunder stealer.
Oh my god a pumpkin patch. Squueeee! I am the epitome of Charlie Brown. LOVED him when I was a kid and love him now. I still watch A Charlie Brown Christmas every year, and I own the picture book complete with record read a-long turn the pages thing. I was pumped to venture towards it!
See? Idiotically happy. Sublimely so.
Part two, coming up!
