2009.....the year of?
So, 2009 is here. It has been for almost a month now. And it certainly brought trials to go along with it. One of my fur children (my cat Pandorah) got really sick in December with bladder stones. Not so much to deal with right? But then we were told she was also suffering from liver dieasse, which was devastating. Everything I have ever read states that there is not much of a chance for kitties who have liver disease. My sister's cat died from liver diesease. All the vets we spoke to told us that without supportive care she would nto pull through. Supportive care is when they keep her in the hospital for a few MONTHS, on an IV. So yeah, since I had already spent $3000 in 2 weeks, I did not have that kind of money. So I asked what my other options were. I made it very clear that I wanted to take her home and that I would do anything in my power to make her better, it did not matter what that took. I was still told that taking her away from supportive care significantly lowered her chances of surviving. So, a month later, many many force feedings, lots of drugs, and an at home cooked diet, she is thriving and still with us. She is no longer yellow, she has energy back, and she is eating and drinking on her own!! Yay!! So the whole point of this post is to say that it is 2009. I am turning 30 this year, I was forced to remember what is important in life, and that is: the things you surround yourself with, and the people you love. Not work, not aging, not who makes more money doing less. So I am making 2009 about doing the things I have always wanted to do but have been too scared to do. Things like joining a knitting class, taking a course in something I find fun and interseting. Skydiving!!! Also spending more time in nature and getting myself into shape, both physically and mentally. So yeah, thats my plan for this year. I do not want to waste my life away, and sometimes I feel like I am. No more!!! So happy 2009 folks, I hope that you make a list this year like I plan to, and stick to at least three things on that list!! Here's to health and happiness!
